“Liberation Frequency” is the name of a song off of Refused’s final album The Shape of Punk to Come. The song is about the homogeneous sound coming over today’s airwaves. This same old sound played over and over again amounts to nothing more than noise. We see and hear this noise every day when we listen to popular music or when we watch media coverage of electoral politics. So we should all be asking ourselves the following: “What frequency are you getting? Is it noise or sweet, sweet music?”

This blog began as the companion to a radio show that was broadcast weekly from 6-7pm Wednesdays out of Northampton, Massachusetts on WOZQ 91.9 FM. The show ran from February through May of 2008. Right now we are not hosting a radio show, though we hope to once again in the future. Currently the blog is morphing into a place where Brian and Jay write up their thoughts on the world, share links we think people should read, and post updates on some of our projects. It is our hope that we still occasionally post audio-interviews.
